’After four fantastic years at Axa, I’ll be moving on to pastures new for 2026,’ says appointee

David Pearce has re-joined Aviva four years after he left the firm for Axa.

Pearce first joined the insurer in 2005 as a claims handler, working his way up to head of retail for new business trading in October 2020.

He left the firm in 2022 to join Axa as its director for retail direct, a role he held until December 2025.

In a LinkedIn post announcing his departure, he said: ”After four fantastic years at Axa, I’ll be moving on to pastures new for 2026.

”First and foremost, thank you to my team (past and current members) — you made every day enjoyable, challenging and fun.

“I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to work with and I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved together.”

New position

Pearce will now take on the role of commercial director for Aviva Zero.

Aviva Zero was launched in February 2022 and enables policyholders to offset the carbon emissions created from the miles they drive.

Pearce said: ”Excited to share I’m starting a new position as commercial director, Aviva Zero at Aviva. Thank you to all the Zero team for the warm welcome.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
