’I am delighted to join Coalition at such an exciting time,’ says new appointee

Cyber insurance provider Coalition has appointed Laura Stewart as its first UK claims leader.

The firm said it was making the move as part of plans to build on the claims support that it provides for UK customers.

She will be based in Coalition’s London headquarters.

“I am delighted to join Coalition at such an exciting time and look forward to helping policyholders when they need it most,” Stewart said.

“I look forward to working with brokers to ensure their clients are prepared and I will help ensure policyholders receive an exceptional claims service.”

Experience

Stewart bring several years of experience to the role, with her having supported clients, ranging from small UK businesses to large international organisations, with various incidents during her career.

This includes ransomware, financial fraud, business email compromise and insider threats.

She also has experience dealing with insurance claims and coverage issues.

Firms she has worked at include DAC Beachcroft, Ernst and Young and, most recently, US law firm Morrison Foerster.

Her appointment at Coalition came after the firm more than doubled its UK head count during its first year of trading, which began on 1 September 2022.

Tom Draper, Coalition’s UK head of insurance, said: “Laura’s expertise in supporting clients through an incident will prove invaluable to our policyholders and brokers.

”Her understanding of what steps can be taken pre-incident to improve outcomes will give clients even more confidence in the active cyber insurance proposition.

”Her added leadership to our UK cyber claims team demonstrates Coalition’s continued investment in our UK expansion.”
