Family-owned broker snaps up ex-Gallagher leader for leadership role

Patons Insurance has appointed ex-Gallagher leader Steve Milner as its new head of commercial.

In his new role, Milner will help the family-owned broker develop and implement more sales and marketing strategies.

Speaking about joining the firm, he said: “Patons is somewhere that people matter and a lot of time is invested in helping them develop their careers.

”It is so rewarding to be able to guide people along the way and watch them earn promotions and become senior figures in the industry.

Experience

Milner joins from Gallagher, where he has served as operations manager for the last three years.

Before this, he spent 14 years at Bollington Insurance Brokers, where he spent the majority of his time managing specialist motor teams.

Milner said: “I’ve moved from a very corporate environment with 45,000 staff in 130 countries to a much smaller, independent organisation where I could see many opportunities to make a real difference.

“I’ve worked with a lot of MDs and successful people throughout my career and hope I have been able to learn from them and bring those experiences to my new role.”
