CelsiusPro Group-owned Global Parametrics has appointed Ola Jacob as its new London market business development director.
In his new role, Jacob will focus on expanding CelsiusPro Group’s parametric insurance propositions through the London market.
He joins from Descartes Underwriting, where he most recently served as UK and Ireland business development director for parametric propositions.
He has also worked at Gallagher as a senior broker and at FloodFlash as a broker success manager during his career.
Mark Rueegg, chief executive at CelsiusPro Group, said: “Jacob’s experience and broad network across the London market aligns perfectly with our mission to continue taking parametrics to centre stage and make parametric risk transfer a key component of risk management strategies.”
Jacob added: “I look forward to working with insurers and brokers to accelerate the penetration of parametric insurance, giving clients the best protection against climate and NatCat risks.

Jacob was also named Tech Champion of the Year at the 2022 Insurance Times Awards.

He described the award as ”the best insurance award” he could have achieved.
He added: ”This award represents all the beautiful people that voted for me and who I’ve worked with on my journey so far.
