’We have an exciting ambition for our HNW business and I’m looking forward to working with the team and our distribution partners to bring this to life,’ says appointee

Hiscox UK has appointed Matt Perkin to the role of trading director for high net worth (HNW), art and collections.

In this newly created role, Perkin will be responsible for leading the HNW trading teams and delivering the broker HNW strategy.

“Hiscox has a proud heritage in the HNW market and it’s a privilege to be leading such a talented team at this important time for our business,” Perkin said.

“We have an exciting ambition for our HNW business and I’m looking forward to working with the team and our distribution partners to bring this to life.”

Experience

He takes on the role after joining the insurer in 2023 as a strategic account manager, where he worked within the distribution team to manage some of Hiscox’s largest broker relationships.

Prior to this, Perkin worked at Zurich for 12 years, where he held several positions across retail distribution.

In his new role, Perkin reports to chief distribution officer Gareth Hemming.

“This part of our business has grown considerably in the past couple of years, driven by the quality of our teams and the relationships they have built,” Hemming said.

“Under Perkin’s leadership, I believe that we can continue this impressive trajectory and exceed our customer and broker expectations as they continue to evolve.”
