HSB announces new MD for warranty and building control division

Specialist engineering and technology insurer HSB has snapped up David Swigciski as the new managing director of its Premier Guarantee brand.

The role will see Swigciski lead the development and progress of HSB’s warranty and building control business under the Premier Guarantee name.

He will also focus on strengthening technical and service capabilities.

Swigciski, who succeeds Jacki Goodman following her retirement at the end of 2023, will report to Stephen Worrall, chief executive of HSB UK and Ireland.

“David brings a wealth of experience across a number of specialty insurance sectors, which will complement HSB’s leadership team and be invaluable in enabling the future growth and success of our warranty and building control business,” Worrall said.

Experience

Swigciski joins from Das UK Group, where he most recently served as director of client service.

Prior to this, he was the SME trading director at RSA, a position he held for four years.

In both roles, Swigciski led on a number of strategic and operational improvements for specialty insurance businesses, situated in the engineering, marine and power and construction sectors.

“His strategic capabilities, proven operational effectiveness and excellent track record of delivery will help to take our warranty and building control division to the next level as a successful business which provides long-term, added value for all its customers,” Worrall said.
