AmTrust International has appointed Tony Scott as the new head of claims for its specialty business unit.
Scott will be responsible for the strategy and execution of AmTrust’s claims operations, overseeing total claims outcomes across the specialty business.
In addition to this, he will lead claims management and resolution, drive innovation and process improvement and ensure full compliance with AmTrust’s claims management principles and minimum standards.
“I am excited to have the opportunity to join the claims team at AmTrust,” said Scott, who will be based in London.
“I look forward to working with the team and we aim to build upon AmTrust’s established reputation for delivering a first-class claims experience for our clients.”
Experience
Scott began his career at HSBC, where he spent more than 25 years in a range of roles, including head of claims.

Following his time at HSBC, he joined Canopius Group, serving as claims operations manager and head of retail and delegated.
Most recently, Scott was for seven years head of claims at Geo Underwriting.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
