The appointee ‘brings significant experience in the delegated authority space’, says chief executive

The Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA) has appointed HDI’s director of delegated authority Jade Wilcox to its board, a statement released today (6 June 2023) has revealed.

The appointee brings over 20 years of multi-class and multi-territory experience to the role.

Prior to joining insurer HDI in 2021, Wilcox served as underwriting manager at Arch Insurance International for over seven years.

She also worked as a binding authority broker at MGA and Lloyd’s broker Cooper Gay and Co and as a delegated authority underwriter at Pioneer Underwriters.

Mike Keating, chief executive at the MGAA, said: “Jade is an excellent appointment to the board and brings significant experience in the delegated authority space having already demonstrated her commitment and support for the MGA community for a number of years.”

‘Invaluable’ insight

Wilcox will join a total of ten existing board members.

These include Keating, Jensten Group placement director Jonathan Skinner, Miramar Underwriting chief executive Jeff Turner, DYC Insurelaw Consultants principal David Coupe, Markerstudy Group non executive director Chris Collings, Lloyd’s regional manager for the UK and Ireland Keith Stern, XS Assure director Marco Del Carlo, Incorporated Insurance Group Limited (IIGL) founder and operations director Lyndsey Thompson, Resolution Underwriting chairman Chris Harman and Nutshell Consultancy director Sharon Brown.

“The addition of Jade to the board adds yet further strength and expert guidance to the association,” said Keating.

“Her expertise and knowledge of the MGA landscape and the operational issues facing MGAs will be invaluable as we continue to grow our membership and support and promote the MGA sector in the UK and Ireland.”
