The appointees have the ’skills, drive and vision to deliver our ambitious plan and turbo charge the next stage of Partners&’s development’, says chief executive

Partners& has announced a range of new appointments after Lee Davey confirmed he would be moving into a new role.

Last week (11 April 2024), Davey announced that he would be becoming the broker’s chief executive for the South, which will see him lead the insurance broking business and wider trading teams in the South and Midlands.

And in a statement today (16 April 2024), Partners& confirmed Davey was among three promotions the firm had made as it positions itself for the next stage of its growth plan.

One of them is Ewan MacDonald, who has been appointed chief executive of the North – this will see him lead the insurance broking business and wider trading teams in the North and Scotland regions.

Both Davey and MacDonald, who had both been managing partners before their promotions, will be jointly responsible for driving growth, building collaboration and “enabling seamless advice” across the business.

“I’m thrilled to be working alongside Lee and leading our teams to outstanding success,” MacDonald said.

“I’m a firm believer in the adage that when you surround yourself with great people, great things happen. We’re fortunate to have a fantastic, combined leadership team who are set to take our business forward.”

Davey added: “Working with Ewan, we’re going to remain laser focused on ensuring we create the right environment for our people to deliver first class personal service and advice for our clients – first time and every time.

“That is what will propel us to achieve our goal of being the best insurance and risk advisory business in the UK.”

Other appointment

Meanwhile, Partners& also revealed that Ramzan Ghafoor had been appointed chief operating officer for client service.

He will be responsible for bolstering the broker’s service and claims offering.

“Creating this role puts client service at the heart of our operation, which many businesses fail to do,” Ghafoor said.

“As a challenger brand, client service remains core to our purpose. We aim to create a unique client experience – from the first day we engage with clients through to the ultimate test of our value – the claims experience. I’m thrilled to be spearheading this critical aspect of our business.”

Ghafoor, Davey and MacDonald will all report to group chief executive Phil Barton.

“I’m delighted with these appointments, all of which reflect the fantastic talent we have attracted and developed in our business,” Barton said.

“Lee, Ewan and Ramzan have the skills, drive and vision to deliver our ambitious plan and turbo charge the next stage of Partners&’s development. It’s an exciting time for Partners& as we continue to challenge what it means to be a leading insurance advisory business in our world today.”
