UK and international chief executive is confident that the newly promoted appointee ‘will build on the momentum we have to drive our transformation [into] the UK’s best commercial lines insurer’

Intact-owned RSA has appointed Tovah Grosscurth as its new commercial lines managing director, effective immediately, as incumbent Sonya Bryson steps down.

Bryson has opted to leave RSA’s commercial lines business to pursue other opportunities, although she will remain employed by the insurer to support Grosscurth’s transition into the leadership role.

As commercial lines managing director, Grosscurth will be responsible for RSA’s commercial lines strategy and performance, including profit and loss across this portfolio. She will report to Ken Norgrove, the insurer’s chief executive of UK and international.

The appointment remains subject to regulatory approval.

Building on momentum

Grosscurth has worked at RSA for the past 28 years, holding numerous roles across its strategy and change, claims and operations divisions.

Most recently, she led RSA’s commercial lines eTrading business.

In Insurance Times’ Five Star Rating Report: eTrading 2025, published in May 2025, the insurer’s extranet – RSA Online – received a five star rating, based on a survey of 750 UKGI brokers.

Speaking on this personnel change, Norgrove said: “Bryson has been a valued member of my team for the past 18 months and has played a fundamental role in the integration of NIG and FarmWeb.

“We are now seeing the benefits [of this work] through improved service to brokers and increased visibility in the market. I want to personally thank Bryson for her contribution and wish her the very best going forward.

“I’ve worked with Grosscurth for many years and am particularly pleased that we are able to promote from within RSA for this important role.

“I’m confident Grosscurth will build on the momentum we have in the business and use her strong leadership and operational expertise to drive our transformation in becoming the UK’s best commercial lines insurer.”
