‘We can put meaningful, accessible protection in the hands of small business owners,’ says chief executive

Simply Business has partnered with MGA Elevate Specialty to offer cyber insurance to its small business customers.

The partnership will allow customers to add Elevate Specialty’s cyber insurance product to their existing business insurance policies, providing cover for cyber crime, data breaches and cyber liability.

The product also includes access to an expert helpline offering guidance, triage and recovery support following cyber incidents.

Simply Business said the agreement expands the range of cover available through its insurer panel.

Julie Fisher, UK chief executive at Simply Business, said cyber threats were becoming an increasing concern for small businesses, many of which lacked dedicated resources to manage digital risks.

“For small and micro businesses, cyber threats are a rapidly growing concern and navigating those risks can be daunting,” she said.

“By partnering with Elevate Specialty, we are making it simpler for our customers to add cyber insurance directly to their existing policies so they can better protect their businesses from the impact of online attacks.”

‘Accessible protection’

Elevate Specialty chief executive Mickey Attia said the partnership would extend the MGA’s cyber proposition to Simply Business’ customer base, which spans more than 1,700 trades and professions.

He added that the product was designed to provide accessible cyber protection for small businesses that do not have enterprise-level IT capabilities or security budgets.

He said: “Bringing our cyber product to that community means we can put meaningful, accessible protection in the hands of small business owners, many of whom don’t have dedicated IT teams or enterprise-level budgets.”
