Insurance Times rounds up the biggest moves and promotions from 12 to 16 May 2025

Starting off the week, Arch Insurance International integrated its London market small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) and UK regional professional indemnity (PI) operations into a single, unified team.

Sophie Mansouri will lead the team as UK PI underwriting manager – the newly created role will see her be responsible for overseeing the UK PI portfolio.

Then, Gallagher appointed Clare Francis as an independent non-executive director.

As part of her role, Francis will become the chair of the remuneration committee and a member of the nominations, audit and risk committees.

Following this, MGA Aspect appointed Paul Youdan-Smith as its new wording specialist.

In his new role, Youdan-Smith will be leading on policy wordings, providing simplified wordings for smaller businesses and bespoke wordings for key industries.

After that, Broadway Insurance Partners appointed Paul Moors to its board as a director.

Moors brings over 40 years of industry experience and was previously chief executive at Cheshire-based Bollington Insurance Brokers, which controlled premiums in excess of £200m prior to its 2021 sale to Gallagher.

Rounding off the week, Biba revealed that Caroline Barr will become its new chair.

Barr will take over the position from Jonathan Evans, whose tenure finishes at the end of the year.
