’We thank them both for their outstanding contributions at Allianz,’ says spokesperson

Allianz has confirmed that claims leaders Graham Gibson and Caroline Johnson will both be leaving the business.

Gibson has held the role of chief claims officer at the insurer since 2008, while Johnson has served as claims director for the firm’s personal arm since 2024.

Allianz said both would leave the business in Q4 2025 and that their roles will not be replaced.

An Allianz spokesperson said: “We thank them both for their outstanding contributions at Allianz and wish them all the best for the future.”

Merger

This comes after Allianz UK announced in January 2025 that it was merging its commercial and personal claims teams to create a new “united claims function”.

The insurer made the move to improve its digital capability and create more time value-added services.

Colm Holmes, Allianz UK chief executive, said: “This is an exciting time for us as we unify our business to leverage the strength of Allianz and continue towards our goal of becoming the leading general insurer in the UK.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
