’We’ve rebuilt, reshaped and relaunched our proposition,’ says chief executive

Verlingue has rebranded its specialist Lloyd’s and London market wholesale broker as part of plans to bolster its proposition for partners.

In a statement released today (6 November 2023), the UK broker and employee benefits consultant said NBJ London Markets would become Verlingue London Markets to bring the name “more in line” with its UK and European brand whilst “retaining its distinct specialty”.

The firm, which specialises in placing risks for motor fleet, property and liability, will continue to serve both Verlingue and a number of independent community brokers across the UK.

“NBJ London Markets is a well-known and respected part of our operation and this rebrand is part of our overall strategy to build an exciting and capable business for our broking partners,” Verlingue’s UK chief executive Mike Latham said.

New appointments

As part of the move, Verlingue said it had made several new senior hires to “further enhance” access to markets, technical capability and “exceptional service provision”.

Among them is Barry Reynolds, who will join as executive director from the Jensten Group, where he led the UK and EEA Lloyd’s broking businesses.

He joined when the firm acquired Tasker Group, which Reynolds cofounded in 2000 after spending 12 years in broking and underwriting roles in the London market.

Other hires include broking manager Lucy Colleran, head of broker development Simon Clegg and head of motor Marc Smart.

Latham said the firm had bolstered its proposition and made new appointments after broker partners ”repeatedly told us that they have seen a significant erosion in service levels across London market wholesale brokers in recent years”.

”Their request was simple – deliver high levels of ongoing service and access to market expert brokers and we would have something very different from everyone else right now,” he added.

”So, that’s exactly what we’ve done. We’ve rebuilt, reshaped and relaunched our proposition and we’re delighted with the caliber of professionals who have chosen to join us on this exciting project.”
