New ITN show ‘De-Risking the Future’ looks at the changing face of broking and brings the challenge of regulation to the fore

A new ITN programme ‘De-risking the Future’ will feature an interview with chair of the Treasury Select Committee, Nicky Morgan.

In the online show, Morgan championed the Biba manifesto and commented: “The Treasury Select Committee quizzes senior officials from the FCA several times a year so the issue of the burden of regulation is very alive to those the FCA regulates and they will ask the Treasury Select Committee to raise these issues.”

The programme showcases how the burden of regulation is hitting companies by the FCA.

It explores how the role of the broker is changing and aim to tackle how the sector is embracing professionalism and diversification, and striving for proportionate regulation.

In addition, the programme features a special report on how broker productivity is impacted on by a slew of regulation.

A recent survey found that nine in 10 brokers find new regulations to be overly “burdensome”.
