Sid questions the whereabouts of some senior faces and contemplates a clash of Scots

My book on which insurance company CEO will take the first early bath of 2010 is building nicely with a strong favourite, but c’est la vie. Another book is opening now for the Howard Hughes award for insurance personalities.

So if anyone has actually seen David McMillan, Patrick Smith (chairman of Biba allegedly) or Andy Haste (you have to be kidding!) in the market please let me know. I’m, pleased to report Alan ‘Muddy’ Waters is alive and well and filling in application forms (Job Centre or JLT forms I cannot reveal, very hush hush).

So John McClaren-Stewart, he of the facial hair, has joined Chris Giles, he of the Glasgow kiss (oh how I would have enjoyed his sparring with Igal Mayer). I already have the press release drafted to announce their separation. When ego’s collide “a difference of opinion about future strategy” is but a heartbeat away.

In the meantime CCV are losing Martyn Denney who had not quite arrived from Broker Network. Marsh or Willis Network bound…….let me know, on the QT.

Watch out too for a major team defection from one International broker “once we’ve got our bloody bonuses at the end of March we are out of here”. Sid is told it could be a major carrier they decamp to and they will write “marine business” into their Lloyd's facilities, but they are still negotiating via a well known headhunter boutique, completely hush hush.
