New recruit reports to retail MD David Hall
QBE has hired former Zurich executive Mark Platten as director of property and real estate in its retail division – a newly created role.
Platten reports to QBE retail managing director David Hall and is responsible for the insurer’s UK property and real estate portfolios.
Platten has held a variety of underwriting roles at Zurich, including chief underwriting officer for the insurer’s UK global corporate business.
Most recently he was an underwriting consultant at Zurich.
Hall said: “Mark’s extensive knowledge and background will be invaluable as we shape and build our growing property and real estate portfolios.
“We are developing a truly client-centric proposition and Mark’s role will be instrumental in ensuring that we deliver integrated offerings that benefit both clients and brokers and which fully leverage the strengths of our products and services.”
