RBSI splits sales from claims team

RBS Insurance has restructured its sales and claims operations, creating two teams.

The first will be headed by managing director of sales, service and partnerships Darrell Evans, who joins from RBS Retail, where he is managing director of mortgages, loans and retail telephony.

The second team, claims, has yet to appoint a managing director.

Ed Smith, who ran the joint division, has been appointed to the new post of chief operating officer.

RBS Insurance, which includes Direct Line, Churchill and NIG, was taken off the market earlier this year after the government-backed Royal Bank of Scotland failed to find a buyer.
