Harrogate insurer eyes 17% GWP boost this year
Rural Insurance has signed distribution deals with Broker Network, Coversure and Welsh broker Farmers Union of Wales (FUW).
Broker Network will distribute agricultural motor, equine and farm risks until the end of December 2014.
Coversure will sell Rural products such as business motor, farm motor, farm combined and multi-section policies.
Farmers Union of Wales has been distributing motor risks for Rural since October 2011, but the broker will now sell Rural’s farm risks too.
Rural managing director Simon Stevens said: “Rural has increased its reach from 80 regularly trading brokers this time last year to nearly 140 in January this year, and we aim to grow our footprint to 200 brokers by this time next year.
“Following a complete overhaul of our sales team and service operation, we have almost doubled the amount of new business we have written over the last 12 months and we are on target to grow our GWP by 17% in this financial year.”
Coversure personal lines manager Colin Dawson said: “We are very pleased with the ‘can do’ attitude within Rural and I’m more than happy to expand our relationship. I see this as an excellent opportunity for Coversure as we have many offices in suitable locations.”
