AIB lines up Sampo for Quinn

Anglo Irish Bank is in talks with Finnish insurer Sampo about a takeover of troubled Quinn Insurance.

AIB wants a partner with no current Irish insurance to help avoid job losses, the Times reports.

Sampo owns P&C Insurance, the biggest property and casualty insurer in the Nordic region, and Mandatum Life, a life insurer.
