Find out the winners and losers from this year's top 50 brokers

This year's Insurance Times Top 50 Brokers marks the debut of high street broker A-Plan and has seen Aon cement its position at the top despite Marsh’s acquisition of HSBC.

A-Plan, which operates an extensive network of high street branches across southern England, enters the Top 50 at number 28, making it this year’s highest new entry.

The four other new entrants to the Top 50 are Price Forbes, Henderson, the Oxygen Group and Berry, Palmer & Lyle. Click here to download the table.

The top three brokers remain in order: Aon, Marsh and Willis. Marsh’s acquisition of former fellow Top 10 broker HSBC helped it to grow its UK brokerage income by 58% to £749.6m, according to IMAS, which compiled the table.

But even this strong growth was insufficient to outstrip Aon, which saw its brokerage income increase by 17% to £805.6m.

This year’s strongest performers, according to IMAS, are RK Harrison, Abbey Protection and Cooper Gay.

The overall brokerage of the Top 50 grew by 12% to £6.1bn this year, reflecting continuing consolidation across the sector. In addition, the entry point for the Top 50 exceeded £15m for the first time this year. Click here to go to the Top 50 Brokers site.
