Chartis UK has stopped writing new solicitors' professional indemnity (PI) business.

Chartis was the biggest insurer in solicitors' PI last year. It wrote £38.5m of business and had an 18% market share.

SRA figures show that Chartis has an exposure of 17.4% to ARP costs.
