Those who count diamonds among their friends were catered for by a diamond-themed event at the Olympia Fine Art and Antiques Fair last week.
Chubb's Jonathan Merritt and Stephen Smith of high net worth brokers Smith Ross Shane hosted a talk about diamonds entitled Romancing the Stone, given by jewellery valuer John Benjamin. Guests learned about manufacturing processes, colours, clarity and styles through the ages. Also discussed was the process of valuing diamonds and the need to update valuations and insurance arrangements regularly.
