Aviation insurer AIG has said it would charge extra for insuring flights in the Gulf region when flights there resume.
The move came shortly after the start of US military action in the Gulf, leading most commercial airlines to suspend services in the region.
An AIG spokesman said: "When they (airlines) are serving the Gulf region again, there will be a per-flight charge, yet to be determined."
AIG said it has so far not altered or suspended coverage for any of its existing airline customers.
AIG is sells all-risks insurance policies to airlines and offers third-party liability insurance for overseas carriers in the case of damage caused by war.
