The CII has awarded AMG a Prior Learning Accreditation for its Loss Adjuster Professional Training programme.

This accreditation will count as credit towards CII qualifications. Employees who successfully complete the AMG training programme and examinations will receive CII Diploma level credits.

Kevin Wood, AMG managing director, said: "We recognised back in 2002 that the insurance industry was facing a skills crisis in loss adjusting and devised a strategy to develop expertise in-house, rather than recruit from an ever decreasing pool of talent. We seek to supply the most technically skilled loss adjusters in the industry, delivering a professional service which supports our clients in their business objectives. Investing in our people has seen us accelerate towards our corporate goals and gain a reputation as an employer of choice. We are thrilled to receive further recognition from the CII and would urge others, across all insurance sectors, to take up the challenge; only then will the insurance industry as a whole be seen to offer attractive career prospects."

Dr Alexander Scott, CII director general, said: "Investment in training is essential if the insurance industry is to make a persuasive case to attract the best young talent. Attaining Prior Learning Accreditation necessarily requires a very high level of commitment and AMG is setting the pace in the loss adjusting profession. I hope others will see the benefits and follow their lead."
