Fortis Insurance has appointed Shaun Astley as service director.
In this role he is responsible for 240 staff at the company's Gloucester office.
He is also responsible for the Commercial and Mechanical Breakdown insurance accounts which are based in Gloucester, as well as the policy administration and claims handling departments.
He commented: "A business must structure itself so it is able to make fast, quality decisions by empowering high quality individuals.

Astley has more than 16 years' experience in the insurance industry, including working for English & American Group and Eastgate Group.
