Alleged misconduct related to broker steering is likely to be confined to a few people working in the insurance industry, AIG chairman and chief executive Maurice Greenberg has said.
Greenberg, whose son Jeffrey was ousted from his post as head of beleaguered broker Marsh, said greater transparency would benefit the insurance industry.
Greenberg said allegations of bid-rigging and steering were limited to a few industry insiders.
AIG was one insurer cited in the lawsuit brought against Marsh by New York attorney general Eliot Spitzer last month.
In response Greenberg said the industry should review all its practices and make any contingent commission payments transparent.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
