Brit has completed its integration with PRI, revealing that it plans to pull out of warranty and Indemnity insurance.

A Brit spokesman said that following a review it had decided that warranty and Indemnity insurance did not form part of its strategy and had withdrawn from this class.

"PRI staff has relocated to Brit's offices in central London and are now writing business as part of Brit," a statement said.

Dane Douetil, chief executive of Brit's underwriting operations, said: "We are pleased that the integration has been swift and we are delighted that we will be able to take full advantage of the benefits of this acquisition as quickly as possible.

"From 1 July all new business previously written as part of PRI's account, has been written on Brit paper with all the financial strength that brings.

"As a result of underwriters joining the group and Brit's acquisition of books of business, we, and our clients, now have access to significant additional expertise in many existing classes of UK business and can offer new lines, such as medical malpractice.

"The UK market remains hugely attractive and there is considerable opportunity for growth in those areas in which we are focused."
