Commercial Vehicle Direct has created a mock 'disaster' to test whether it could continue to trade in the event of a business interruption.

The trial was conducted with Open GI's business continuity solution and was considered a success.

Graham Powell, managing director, Commercial Vehicle Direct, said: “It's essential to have a business continuity plan that includes IT disaster recovery. With an average of 1,800 calls coming into CVD every day, any system downtime would impact our customers and lead to a substantial loss of income."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
