John Leak mentions three classes of motor insurance and lists four different covers (Letters, 17 February).

He admits his motor knowledge may need refreshing, but in the present FSA climate of competent persons, can he make this comment on this topic if he openly admits his knowledge may be dated?

I would not doubt Leak's overall insurance knowledge or his integrity, but I think it serves to highlight to all how simple comments meant to benefit all, or at least make people stop and think, can easily fall foul of the new rules.
