The success of the personal injury legal system reforms must be measured by how many people are claiming compensation, according to personal injury lawyers.
Colin Ettinger, president of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers, said: “A good measure would be if reports say in two years time the numbers of people seeking redress are going up.”
Ettinger also slammed the Better Regulation Task Force's suggestion that small claim compensation pay-outs should be increased to £5,000.
“The motivation for this proposal is to cut (the) cost of dealing with these cases,” he said.
