Claims Direct, the failed personal injury specialist that went into administrative receivership, is to live again.

Law firm Russell Jones & Walker bought the rights to operate the business and is running the service from its Birmingham offices.

The deal covered the Claims Direct name, websites, telephone numbers and sophisticated claims handling IT system.

RJW will not take on Claims Direct's liabilities or outstanding claims and will run the business under the name New Claims Direct.

It will be run as a phone and internet-based operation offering accident victims a free service based on a no-win, no-fee agreement.

Managing partner Richard Langton said the firm aimed to keep the proportion of cases that fail to a tiny proportion of those it takes on.

"We would hope overall to keep it under 3% and ideally about 1% or 2%," he said.

The company was already receiving 100 cases a week from the existing website and phone numbers.

About six staff from the old Claims Direct operation had been re-employed to run its call centre.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
