Crawford & Company has hosted a major catastrophe management event.

More than 100 claims managers attended the ‘Insight into Catastrophe Management' event at the London Underwriting Centre. Among the issues discussed were Buncefield, hurricanes, information sharing and best practice claims management.

Glenn Gibson, head of Crawford's Global Technical Services advisory council, said: “Recent events such as the Buncefield explosion and the impact of the hurricanes in the US have made us all realize the importance of effective pre-planning and global management in a catastrophe situation.

“There are always lessons to be learned from each event and we will continue adapting our response to ensure the best outcome for our clients.

“We also realize the importance of sharing our findings with other industry practitioners and arranged this event in order to exchange information and best practice for the future. We were delighted with the industry response, which evidences a keen desire to learn from these difficult experiences.”

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
