Primary Insurance has said there has been a return in consumer confidence after the damage to the travel trade caused by September 11.

Sales of long haul policies are still down on previous years but the short haul increases are making up the difference.

Primary Insurance's managing director Tim Berry said: "Travel agents and tour operators are now looking at the service levels, security provision and longevity of relationships that their travel insurance suppliers can provide rather than just the price of the product, which is how it should be."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
