Loss adjuster Crawford & Co has assembled teams in Sydney and Melbourne to deal with the Australian bushfires.
Crawford & Co already has a team working from temporary offices in Canberra.
A Crawford & Co spokesman said that by the second day of the operation they had received approximately 50 claims, including total loss domestic claims as well as commercial losses.
The fire has brought forward the company's plan to open an office in Canberra as its Australian operation grows.
