The Claims Standards Council (CSC) has called an extraordinary general meeting (EGM) on 12 October, where the new CSC executive will be voted in and a new director general appointed.
The CSC will publish the list of nominees for the role at the beginning of October.
The regulator will then address its membership on the importance of supporting a strong trade body, it said.
The CSC will also appoint representatives to sit on the Department of Constitutional Affair's regulatory group.
The EGM is in partnership with CSC's media partner, Insurance Times.
