DAS, the legal protection insurer has unveiled plans for a new approach to servicing brokers.

DAS said the new structure sees the country split into the two sales regions of North and South.

There will be a total of ten teams which will typically have an account manager backed by two technical support staff.

The teams will be based in Bristol, London and Manchester.

As a result, the insurer said the restructure has resulted in the relocation of the Scottish support team to the Manchester office and closure of the Glasgow office.

However, DAS said that as well as access to the support team, clients in the region will still be serviced by a Glasgow based account manager.

Head of broker sales, Richard Scott Smith, said: “It's not about sales, it's about providing more layered technical knowledge.

"There will be continuity of contact with access to all that expertise back at the office. I am very enthusiastic about what has happened. It's a team effort. The changes enable each member of the new teams to get in-depth understanding of brokers' requirements. They can then use their collective skills to provide the most appropriate response, most speedily.

"What is more, their focus will be on 100% of brokers in their area, not solely the main producers”.
