A group action by air travellers who claim they suffered deep vein thrombosis (DVT) as a result of flying returned to the High Court earlier.

There are believed to be 30 defendants to the claims.

The Evening Standard newspaper reported that British Airways said it would resist claims against it in accordance with World Health Organisation (WHO) advice.

The WHO advice states that no direct link between flying and DVT has yet been established.

More details of the airline's liability are expected later.
