Your article entilted "Manufacturers doubt EL fund" (News, 14 October) incorrectly suggests a lack of political interest in tackling the issue of better funding long-tail employers' liability claims.

The ABI recently met with government and it was clearly evident that there is political recognition of the issue and the need to tackle it.

Everyone recognises that this is a complex area, with no overnight solutions. This is why we are working closely with government and other stakeholders to explore the most practical way forward.
