Policy range from one month to 75 years
Equity Red Star is launching a new family personal accident policy, developed to provide brokers with a competitive edge in this burgeoning insurance market.
Colin Mansfield, Equity's accident and health underwriting manager said: "Recent government statistics reveal that around 84,000 people are injured in DIY and gardening-related accidents each year, whilst around 95,000 children are injured at school.
Offering protection to any family member aged from one month to 75 years of age, without the need for any medical underwriting questions or reports, the new policy includes children up to 18 (23 if in full time education) and is available with a choice of standard or super cover. It covers accidents that may happen in the home, at work, at school or whilst travelling abroad. Both levels of cover provide tax-free sums for a wide range of permanent disabilities.
Mansfield continued: "The ERS family personal accident policy has been created specifically to address the fact that the aftermath of serious accidents often leads to modifications or mobility aids being required in the victim's home."
