Euclidian has revealed its future capacity and market plans, including moves for £350m of capacity for Syndicate 1243 in 2003.
Euclidian also confirmed that the syndicate intends to enter several new classes of business and is reviewing its involvement in the professional indemnity market.
Euclidian chairman James Truscott said: "With an additional £186m of capacity behind Syndicate 1243 for the 2003 underwriting year we will be well placed to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the current market.
"After reviewing profitability on a class-by-class basis we now intend to adjust the emphasis of our underwriting for the 2003 year."
In a statement, the insurer said it plans to open a book of US property treaty business and a smaller aerospace account.
In addition, it plans to maintain its marine account and to expand its book of personal accident business.
Truscott said: "The ultimate aim of our business plan for 2003, growth aside, is to achieve maximum profitability with the earliest possible distribution to shareholders."
