The Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) has appointed Matthew Elderfield as chief executive.
Elderfield joins from the FSA where he was department head of the major retail groups division. He takes on the role as chief executive of the Bermuda regulatory body in July and succeeds former chairman and chief executive Cheryl-Ann Lister.
Under BMA rules amended last year, the chairman and chief executive posts were split into separate roles.
Lister last year announced her intention to step down from both positions, but agreed to remain with the BMA “through a handover period until 17 August", the BMA said in a statement.
