Companies employing over 250 people in the UK must submit their gender pay gap figures by tonight

Companies have until midnight tonight (4 April 2018) to report their gender pay gap data.

All firms with over 250 employees in the UK are required by the government to report their gender pay gaps.

Over 9,000 businesses have reported so far, but not all companies have submitted yet.

Some of the firms that have reported are broken down into units, making it difficult to know exactly how many are left to submit.

For example, JLT reports JLT Reinsurance, JLT Specialty, JLT Benefit Solutions and JLT Management Services as separate entities.

However, reports suggest that around 2,000 to 6,000 entities may not have submitted yet.

Earlier today, The Guardian reported that home secretary Amber Rudd had sent out a warning to companies that had so far failed to submit, saying: ”There is absolutely no excuse for businesses in the private sector not to be transparent about their gender pay gap before the deadline set down in law.”
