The National Flood Forum is predicting that there will be another serious flood-related incident in Devon or Cornwall, similar to the Boscastle disaster.

Boscastle suffered serious damage after a mud slide, caused by torrential rain and swollen rivers, engulfed the village earlier this year.

National Flood Forum operations director Gill Holland has said that Devon and Cornwall posed a higher risk of flooding than other areas.

In an interview with the BBC she said the Environment Agency's new flood map did not highlight specific regions as being at increased risk.

But Holland said the key to finding the places most at risk from flooding would be to analyse locations with similar geographical features to Boscastle - a village in a steep-sided valley.

She said it was important for people to be aware of whether they were at risk and take the necessary precautions.
