As the Open will tee-off this week it seemed appropriate to report on one of the longest golf matches witnessed in the financial services industry, organised by Folgate in Dorset.
A team completed a gruelling four rounds of golf, equalling 72 holes. They collectively played around 2,800 shots and walked in excess of 20 miles each.
Tee off was 7am at the Ferndown Forest Golf Club in Dorset and the last hole completed at 9.40pm. The inclement weather did nothing to assist play, but the team carried on to raise over £2,000 for Macmillan Cancer Research.
Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
