Insurers are watching developments in France, where schoolchildren can now get insurance to protect them in case their designer gear is stolen at school.

The “bully insurance” is an optional top-up to the compulsory insurance all parents must take out for schoolchildren.

A Zurich Insurance spokeswoman said: “With any new development we will keep an eye on it.

“As the propensity to claim against bullies increases, there may well be a need to introduce this sort of product.”

However, she added it may be difficult to differentiate between stolen and lost goods.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
