A man’s car is his pride and joy. So when Backchat learned of the embarrassment suffered by a senior insurance figure with a senior car to match, it felt obliged to
share it with the rest of the insurance world.
The Motor Insurance Database (MID) has a website, www.askmid.com, where car owners can check that their vehicle is correctly insured and on the national database.
So when the said insurance figure entered the registration of his Bentley into the database, there was no record of a Continental GTC convertible or a Brooklands coupé, only a Yamaha scooter.
If he had been stopped by the police there was a risk that the car would have been impounded, or even disposed of.
Then he really could have been putting on his crash helmet and arriving to work on two wheels instead of four.
