GAB Robins Liability Team has been instructed by the Public Liability Insurers for the Isle of Man Government to investigate an oil spillage off the island.

The oil spilt into the drainage system of a local power station during heavy rains on Monday October 21, contaminating numerous fishing and pleasure boats.

Jeff Stagg, Area Liability Director, is leading the GAB Robins Team of Adjusters with assistance from Alan Dobson of our Environmental Loss Unit based in Maidstone.

Additional support is being provided by Property Adjusters from Liverpool and Manchester. Jeff said "Provisional estimates indicate the clean up costs could exceed £3 million."

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.

Hosted by comedian and actor Tom Allen, 34 Gold, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze awards were handed out across an amazing 34 categories recognising brilliance and innovation right across the breadth of UK general insurance.
Many congratulations to all the worthy winners and as always, huge thanks to our sponsors for their support and our judges for their expertise.
