Loss adjuster GAB Robins has appointed a major and complex loss team following an explosion and fire at Shanks Chemical Processing in Seaton Carew, Teesside.

Twelve fire crews were called to the fire along with several special units and a police forward command unit.

The blaze broke out on the evening of 3 March and fire fighters were still bringing the flames under control the following morning.

People living near the plant were warned to stay inside and close windows as the fire blazed.

GAB Robins said Chris Day, Brian Moran and Carolyn Steeper of the major loss team had been on site and were currently carrying out their investigations.
