The Human Genetics Commission (HGC) has released its report into the storage and protection of genetic information.

The report recommended that it should be a criminal offence to access genetic information without a person's knowledge.

However, its main recommendations did not include any references to insurers.

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) welcomed the release of the report.

It said its moratorium on the use of genetic testing was proceeding well.

The 2025 Insurance Times Awards took place on the evening of Wednesday 3rd December in the iconic Great Room of London’s Grosvenor House.
